My personal travel gadgets
I travel a lot these days and I always try to travel light. I do this for a couple of reasons: Firstly, I don’t want to carry too much and secondly, it makes me feel freer. Over the past few years I have spent time researching and actually testing some of the best travel gadgets out there. Some of them stick, and this list is what I can wholeheartedly recommend. This is not an advert or anything, just things I actually use and like.
Matador Pocket Blanket

The Pocket Blanket is one of my favourite things to bring. It is basically a full size blanket (160 x 110cm) that can be folded into a tiny package that is light and fits in your pocket. The blanket is made from the same material as parachutes. So it won’t protect you from anything, but it will keep you dry. It even comes with a couple of stakes in the corners so you can stick it in the ground and the wind can’t pick it up. I use it all the time when I sit down in the park or even on the beach!
HUNU+ Reusable Cup
Hunu‘s collapsible and reusable coffee mug is not just a part of my travels, I use it every day. It folds into a very flat disc so it fits in any pocket. It holds almost 600ml of liquid, so it is perfect for my daily coffee. I personally do not use the straw, but it works just as well. It is also very easy to clean and I have been using it for over two years now.

Spigen USB-C Charger

A good USB charger is essential when travelling. This charger (but there are many others from other companies) works well. I only need one socket and can charge everything I need from this one block. Smartphone, battery, even my laptop. There is a 65W and 120W version. Combined with an international power adapter, nothing can really surprise me. Well, except a power cut…
Jabra Elite Active Headphones
In my opinion, one of the most important items on the list. I can’t get on a train or plane without them. I need my music and these are the headphones of choice, although there are others that work just as well. They’re lightweight, fit well in my ears and block out everything I don’t want to hear. They are not noise cancelling, but they are loud enough for most situations. I actually use them every day as I am one of those commuters…

I could go on with luggage, backpacks and sling bags, but I don’t think it’s necessary. What is your most used travel accessory?
